The University of Iowa Dance Marathon is a student-run nonprofit organization that creates and sustains special projects that provide emotional and financial support to pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families treated at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
During my time at Iowa, I participated on the UIDM Leadership Team (Creative Committee) for four years, and was selected to be the Creative Director for my final year on leadership. I served on the organization's 25th Executive Board, together leading more than 300 leadership members and 3,000 participants for UIDM's anniversary year. My position involved leading the Creative Committee and ensuring that UIDM's visual brand was upheld in all sectors of the organization. This included: merchandise items, all social media content, print materials, video, internal communications, and more.
There are countless more things I could say about this program, but to put it short and sweet:
UIDM has forever changed who I am as a leader, an artist, and an individual.
