Day to DM

Day to DM is a yearly fundraising and awareness "push day" that takes place mid-fall semester and occurs over a 24 hour period. During this time, social media graphics, gifs, videos, and other content related to the push day is posted by the official UIDM accounts, and participants are encouraged to share them as a way to fundraise.

Day to DM began the year before I was creative director, and the look of the event was established by my predecessor. I was thrilled to carry on the Day to DM visual feel, and welcomed the opportunity to not only put my own spin on the day's materials, but the challenge of incorporating the Shape Your Impact brand and themes into the event.  An additional challenge was that, similar to the Shape Your Impact Campaign, much of the event was kept under wraps for the general leadership team until the week before. All of the content put out on this day was coordinated by myself and the PR Director, and all designed, edited, and produced by me.

Unlike the year-long fundraising UIDM partakes in, Day to DM sets a fundraising goal for participants to reach for.

UIDM is a unique program in that it is the only one in the country that the student leadership (with guidance from hospital staff and faculty) assists in deciding the allocation of the funds the organization receives. Day to DM this year kicked off fundraising with the announcement of a $2.2 million gift to the Stead Family Children's to fund a permanent Child Life position.
