"How much of myself have I given away to algorithms, advertisers, and corporate entities in exchange for the perfect playlist, to better find clothing that suits my style, or reconnect myself with past friends? What is this information worth? What belongs to me, and what does not? In this honors research project, I examine questions about the autonomy and ownership we have over our data by relating this information to our physical selves through illustrations. More specifically, I created fragmented self-portraits. I investigated the questions: At what point do my digital identities and my physical identity converge? Where do they depart?"
